Not because of numbers. Not because of strategy. Because of a feeling that had been sitting in the background for more than a year and at a certain point overrode everything logical I could think of.<\/p>\n
Nobody around me understood it. Most days I didn’t understand it myself. But I followed it anyway. And from that decision I understood something I hadn’t been able to see before: being too logical was destroying me as a person.<\/p>\n
The more I grew intellectually, the less I felt. And what I was losing was worth more than what I was gaining.<\/p>\n
Last week YouTube started recommending AI safety videos again. I know that spiral. I’ve been inside it before. This time instead of watching I stopped and remembered how I broke the fear the last time.<\/p>\n
I was speaking to a large group and using ChatGPT to help me articulate my thoughts clearly. A friend in the room told me to stop using it. I didn’t understand why. So I asked the room directly: do you want me to speak clearly with GPT, or imperfect in my own words?<\/p>\n
More than 80% chose my original version. With the mistakes. With the unclear moments.<\/p>\n
I couldn’t believe it. But I respected it. I put the phone down and kept speaking as myself.<\/p>\n
That answer told me everything I needed to know about where AI is actually taking us.<\/p>\n
I have a friend who is a completely crazy AC Milan fan. A team from a city in a country that has nothing to do with his life. A few years ago I asked him: what is the logic of caring this much about a team with no connection to you?<\/p>\n
He looked at me and said: what is the logic of falling in love?<\/p>\n
I closed my mouth. I have respected every fan since that day. Because you cannot see a feeling from the outside. And you cannot explain it from the inside either.<\/p>\n
There is nothing logical about enjoying the present moment without thinking about the past or the future. But it is the most beautiful thing a person can experience.<\/p>\n
There is nothing logical about watching sport, getting married, having children, or standing still to watch a sunset. But those are the things we invest in most. Those are the things that define what we actually are.<\/p>\n
AI is becoming more intelligent than us. This is not the threat.<\/p>\n
The more intelligent AI becomes, the more people will search for the original. We already see it in social media algorithms: original posts beat AI posts almost every time. We see it in how people make decisions, where intelligence plays the smallest role compared to what they feel.<\/p>\n
As AI replaces every intelligent process we currently do for work, something entirely human will happen. We will create new work. Not logical work. Work that no model can predict because there is no logic that leads to it, the same way there was no logic that led to football fans or to people who wake up early to watch a sunrise.<\/p>\n
Logically, AI could dominate us. But we are humans. And humans have never made their most important decisions logically.<\/p>\n
That is not our weakness.<\/p>\n
It is the only thing that has always been impossible to replace.<\/p>\n
